TAP Pest Control Insulation
TAP Insulation in LA, Orange Co. & San Diego
What is TAP Insulation?
TAP Insulation stands for Thermal, Acoustic, Pest Control insulation. TAP is a natural fiber insulation treated with Boric acid to produce fire-retardant, thermally superior, sound deadening insulation with permanent pest control properties. TAP is acceptable for use around humans and pets but deadly to ants, cockroaches, millipedes, silverfish, spiders, termites and many other pests. This product keeps heat in during the winter, cool in the summer, while also protecting your home from pests. Griffin Pest Management has started offering this to homeowners as part of our pest protection program.
Most people are aware that rodents and other wildlife will seek shelter in your attic. Rodents, in particular, can spread diseases with direct or indirect contact with their feces and urine. Gnawing activity can damage air conditioning and heating parts, hoses, wires and insulation. When that happens, Griffin Pest Management can help. Call us for a FREE attic inspection and estimate. Even if you’re not hearing noises or suspect rodent activity, your current insulation may be costing you money.
How Does TAP Work?
TAP is a loose fill cellulose insulation blown in using a machine. Unlike rolled insulation, TAP forms a perfect fit, filling nooks and crannies. TAP can be used as a "cap" over existing insulation in an attic or can be used on its own. Pest crawl through the insulation transferring Boric acid to their bodies and will die after ingesting it.
TAP Insulation Kills Bugs
Insects cannot build up tolerance to TAP as they can with organic biological treatments and you never need to retreat the insulation. T.A.P. controls ants, cockroaches, silverfish, termites and other pests. Boric Acid, the active ingredient in T.A.P. is found in common household products such as saline eyewash solution, detergents and the foods we eat. Although deadly to many insects, T.A.P. is acceptable for use around pets and people.
TAP Saves Money & Decreases Bills
TAP helps keep homeowners cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It also qualifies for residential energy credits! When added to existing insulation or installed on its own, TAP helps keep comfortable air in the living area of your home. This reduces the required energy needed to heat or cool your home and, in turn, reduces your heating and cooling bills. Typical energy savings with TAP pest control insulation will range from 20%-38%.
Quick Facts About TAP
TAP is fire retardant, limiting the spread of fire with both flame and smolder combustion resistance.
TAP reduces unwelcome noise from outside and helps create a peaceful environment inside the home. Insulated interior walls reduce annoying noises (toilets flushing and appliances running) inside a home.
TAP Controls Odors
Due to the 12.5% Boric acid content, TAP acts as a disinfectant where it is placed. Odors are often completely eliminated with the use of TAP insulation.
TAP is Green
TAP has earned the Energy Star qualification from the EPA. TAP contains 87% recycled paper. Installing TAP in a 1500 sq ft new ranch-style home effectively recycles as much newsprint as a family will consume in 40 years; not only recycling but removing it from the waste stream saving landfill space.
A Perfect Fit
TAP forms a perfect fit in your attic, leaving no gaps, covering cracks and crevices, capping the entire attic floor. TAP helps block heat transfer from convection and radiation, as well as conduction.
TAP Out Performs Other Insulation
TAP pest control insulation is one of the best performing insulations on the market, outperforming traditional fiberglass insulation by 32% while providing a permanent pest control solution for your attic.
Energy Star Rated
TAP is the only energy star compliant pest control insulation that saves you money.

Griffin Pest Management resolved our rodent issue and responded quickly and professionally. They went above and beyond resolving not just our rodent issue, but they fixed a storage cabinet for us as well. A big shout out to Roger Delazzer for being so nice, accommodating and fixing all our problems long term. I would definitely recommend Griffin Pest Management to anyone looking for this service.
I recently used Griffin Pest Management for the first time and it was great! Their employees are very nice, helpful, and they come out as soon as needed. We had rats in our attic and the men were quick and thorough in getting the pests out and cleaning up. They covered up any possible entry ways where the rats could have been coming in, and they even came back a few days later to follow up. I would definitely recommend Griffin to anyone with any kind of pests!
